Une nouvelle perte pour la Police nationale d’Haïti. Une tractopelle blindée a été incendiée le lundi 22 mai 2023 par des bandits armés. Les faits, confirmés par une source policière, sont survenus au niveau de Martissant. « Ils ont lancé des cocktails Molotov en direction de l’engin qui n’a pas résisté », a confié cette source sous couvert de l’anonymat.
Sur des images de vidéosurveillance circulant sur les réseaux sociaux, on peut voir un policier sortir en trombe de l’appareil, tentant de sauver sa peau. Deux chars de la police tentent de voler à son secours. Le Nouvelliste a appris que l’agent en question est sorti sain et sauf de cette périlleuse situation.
En moins d’une semaine, trois engins de la police sont partis en fumée, deux blindés vendus par la firme canadienne Inkas et ce Backhoe Loader. Tous les trois ont été attaqués à coup de cocktail molotov.
